As part of the City’s Digital Inclusion Initiative, WeCAN (Wireless Empowered Community Access Network), is working in collaboration with community stakeholders to receive input on strategy and development activities that are shaped by community needs, interests, identities, input, innovations and involvement in support of high value and sustainable digital inclusion programs and services.
The Digital Neighborhood Leadership Team serves as the “collective community voice” for the neighborhood as it relates to the planning and implementation of the City’s digital inclusion efforts and the feasibility of those efforts against the needs of the targeted neighborhood. In addition to fostering community building and development, strengthening the relationship between the City and the neighborhood, the primary purpose of the Digital Neighborhood Leadership Team will be to provide thought leadership, feedback and input through participation in community meetings, focus groups and other related activities.
The Digital Neighborhood Leadership Team is made up of community stakeholders that live, work, volunteer or provide services within in the targeted neighborhood. The stakeholders include representation from entities such as resident associations, schools, nonprofits, businesses, and government. Membership is voluntary and open to those stakeholders that have that have a vested interest in improving the quality of life for the targeted neighborhood.
